Sparks: Session 4, Week 3

Dear Sparks Tribe Families,

What an exciting and enriching week we had! From math adventures to thoughtful discussions, the Sparks engaged in a variety of activities that challenged their minds and encouraged growth in so many ways.

Math Monday kicked off with an inspiring short video about Togo, the legendary sled dog. After watching, the Sparks explored a range of real-world math scenarios, using calculations to solve different challenges. In the afternoon, Math Quest brought a fast-paced and interactive approach to place value through games and puzzles. It was incredible to see the level of focus and enthusiasm as the Sparks worked their way through each task!

Thoughtful Tuesday began with a reading of Kindness Is My Superpower. Sparks reflected on the story and shared ways they show kindness in their own lives. Later in the day, during Emotional Awareness/360 Feedback, they practiced affirmations and gave themselves character callouts. It was a truly empowering experience, and the joy in the room was contagious!

Acton Wednesday centered around discussions on school spirit and sportsmanship. Sparks explored what it means to cheer in a positive and respectful way during school events like the Acton Olympics. The afternoon brought another engaging Math Quest, where Sparks worked in teams to tackle a series of math challenges. It was not only a test of problem-solving skills but also a chance to collaborate and communicate effectively.

Thankful Thursday featured another book by Alicia Ortego, Gratitude Is My Superpower. Sparks took time to reflect on what they are most grateful for, sharing thoughtful and heartfelt responses. In the afternoon, they split into two teams to practice affirmations in different scenarios, reinforcing the power of gratitude and self-encouragement.

Fitness Friday started with a launch about brain exercises and memory improvement techniques. Sparks found the activities to be unique, different, and even a bit challenging! In the afternoon, they continued with Core Time and wrapped up the week with some well-deserved outdoor free time.

It was a week filled with fun, learning, and meaningful connections. We hope everyone has a wonderful and restful weekend—we can’t wait to see you all on Monday!
