Welcome to the final LP newsletter for the session!
On Wednesday, we had our exhibition. Throughout the week, we all worked hard to be entirely prepared to share our genre podcasts and quests. Last week, we finished our Podcasts, so all we had to do for the genre was compile the badge and get it approved. We also printed out enough copies for the guests visiting our exhibition.
To prepare Quest for the exhibition, we sharpened our diagnostic skills and finalized our displays. On Monday and Tuesday, we practiced diagnosing each other to prepare and spent time on our posters and scripts. On Wednesday, we gave and received feedback from different groups on the scripts and displays they offered so we could all improve.
While we did no Civ last week, this week was the complete opposite. In 4 out of 5 days, we had a Civ challenge. On Monday, we researched and answered questions about the Enlightenment period and thinkers of that time who questioned the power of those who controlled the world. On Tuesday, we saw the beginning of industrialization as the economy shifted from Being artisan-focused to being machine-focused. We followed up on that on Thursday when we researched the consequences of switching our economy's focus. Finally, on Friday, we examined the American Revolution and the reasons behind some of its revolts.
The last thing we did this week was prepare our studio responsibilities for the next session. We chose what we would be doing, such as being a discovery helper or morning greeter. This time, though, we also had the option to plan two trips. The first is our own trip to Sacramento in May, and the other is planning a day for another Acton as they are visiting our Acton to see Launchpad and Journey.
Thank you all so much for reading for the past 6 weeks; I hope your break is amazing!
