We are now done, with week 6 coming close to the end of the session. We are finally wrapping up all of our projects, like the NYC, which is also our exhibition, the genre speech, and a new quest video that I will get more into later. Then, on Friday, we got to have an alpine day filled with team building and getting to experience nature.
This week, we only had one Civ challenge, less than most weeks, but we still learned and debated interesting topics. We are still working on the theme of the history of Christianity and focused on the rise of the Catholic Church.
For the genre, we finalized our speeches and got to film them. We practiced recording, got feedback, and changed our speech as needed. Then, we recorded the final speech in front of a green screen that we got. This was a great chance to practice speaking, editing, and writing long speeches, which we usually do not get to do.
And then the quest: We planned our tour portion at the beginning of the week. There were 4 locations, and each chose one to research and create a script for. For example, I chose the Chelsea market because it sounded super interesting to me. I read articles, watched other people do travel vlogs, and then wrote notes and created a rough script for the sequence of events I would say things in. After we finished that in the second half of the week, we got to create a cool video all about our upcoming trip to Guatemala. We tried to get people interested and excited about it while also including humor and making it intriguing.
In essence, this week was super great! We got to see all of our hard work come together, and all of the time we spent was truly worth it. We got to see a speech we were proud of, plan an exciting and engaging exhibition, and create a video that made us all laugh.
We can not wait to see all of you in our exhibition next week!
