This week, we all had so much fun! Here is a quick summary of our week: We had a new Quest led by learners this week that was super educational but also fun. We also had a new tryout learner staying with us for three days and an exciting field trip on Thursday! So, let me give you a quick rundown of our week without further ado!
Let's start with Genre. The beginning of the session started nice and easy, but throughout three different challenges this week, the learners had to write a 1,200-word white paper. We chose a cause we were passionate about, such as equal taxation or freedom of speech, and then we used the research we did last week to make a convincing white paper.
This week for civ on Tuesday, we learned about the genocide in Cambodia that took place between 1975 and 1980. Then, on Wednesday, we learned about Capitalism and whether the economy is causing family sizes to shrink.
The week, we had super fun team-building games led by Aleks. One enjoyable one was the imposter game. We were given a word and had to say clues about it, but one person was the imposter who didn't know the word, and we had to figure out who it was.
The highlight of our week was the field trip! On Thursday, we took a super fun trip to Long Branch Beach! We all enjoyed playing in the waves and spending time together.
Last but not least, we had a fun Quest created and led by Aleks, Nina, and Soraya. It was called Medical Quest. Participants used real-life medical skills such as stitching, and we learned about different diseases.
That's all for this week; thank you so much for reading. Make sure to tune in next week!
