The first week of the fifth session is here! This week was filled with fun; Cooking, reviewing, and a day without a guide? Here’s the details:
#1 - Chemistry and cooking is here! Omelettes and mayo! As session 5 has started, Quest, Genre, Civ, and the Children’s Business Fair have begun too. This session's quest is Chemistry and Cooking, and to start it off, the learners learned and prepared for their first cooking challenge, creating a French Omelette and mayonnaise. Each team had 15 minutes to make both dishes and served it to Launchpad as judges. The winners were… Drumroll please… Seva, Omer R, Zohar, and Arete’a!
#2 - Restaurant Reviews? A genre filled with critique! For the fifth genre of the year, Journey learners are doing Restaurant Review. Simply, they go to a restaurant they haven’t gone to before and write a review for it. This week, Journey researched what professional reviews are supposed to look like, choose a restaurant they want to dine at and write a review for, and go to the restaurant!
#3 - The long awaited Children’s Business Fair is here! Preparations, plans, and humble beginnings! As most of you probably know, every year, on session five, Acton hosts the Children’s Business Fair. The CBF is an opportunity for young learners to choose and create a product or service and end up creating a stand at the CBF. This process includes planning, designing, and creating a small business that will make you money! This week, the Journey learners have already started their entrepreneurial journey, choosing their product/service and creating a rough plan for their CBF stand!
After the week of break, it will be session 5! With Chemistry and Cooking quest, Reviewing restaurants for genre, and the Acton Business Fair. We can’t wait to tell you all about it!
