The third week of session four was packed with fun and learning. Journey learners have drafted their first-ever apprenticeship emails and created displays of medical scanners. Most anticipated, though, was the field trip to the Bubble Planet Experience. Here are the details:
#1 - MRIs, X-rays, and Ultrasounds? – Exploring the power of medical imaging! The learners have finally dove into the depths of how to diagnose patients. This week, they learned about many medical scans that help doctors diagnose patients. They began by researching each scanner, and then split up the work, with each team member having to make one display of a scanner. The learners certainly worked hard on this one.
#2 - Emails have been written! Learners are one step closer to securing an apprenticeship! After weeks of preparation and research, Journey learners have finally written the apprenticeship emails to their choice of place. Learners have chosen things from farms to bakeries, slowly but surely, they are making their way to starting their first ever apprenticeship.
#3 - TEBO! A team-building experience for all! Every Tuesday, for the first time, Journey has something called TEBO. TEBO stands for team-building games outside, and instead of free time, we do something as a studio together. This week, learners split up into groups and had to create a 30-second advertisement for a made-up product. Bonding and fun in one!
#4 - A learner-made field trip? The Bubble Planet Experience! Last session, as a part of Travel Quest, the learners got to make a vote for field trips. The two chosen for us to go on were The Bubble Planet Experience and another that you will soon see. So this week, Journey got to go to The Bubble Planet Experience and had lots of fun. We drove there by bus, stayed in The Bubble Planet Experience, and then left to eat lunch in the mall. It can’t get any more learner-driven than this.
Next week, Journey will start sending their emails, diagnose fake patients, and go to Alpine on Friday. We can’t wait to tell you all about it!
