Journey: Session 3, Week 6

Session #3 is officially behind us, and what a session it was!

The Falcons have five main tasks in the last week of every session:

#1 - Finishing up Genre and Quest: For genre, the Falcons practiced reading their myth aloud and then shared it with the rest of the studio for greenlighting in three groups. In their opinion, each group chose the best myth, and the three best candidates shared their myth with the studio so that everyone could choose the best myth shared in the exhibition. For quest, the Falcons created their “Grand Tour” boards. They worked hard to print and decorate their boards to showcase their hard work during the exhibition.

#2 - Choosing their Servant-Leadership Project: In each session, the Journey Falcons dedicate one hour or more to serve the studio or the school. They can choose from various options, such as mentoring learners from Discovery or Sparks, leading morning launches, managing studio maintenance, creating the yearbook, and more. Ask your Falcon what they chose for next session :)

#3 - 360-degree Feedback: In every session, the Falcons give feedback regarding four main categories: Being intentional (working hard and staying focused), Submitting work with high standards of excellence, Being civil (kind and respectful), and Being a leader. The learners put a lot of time and effort into giving these inputs, and they can learn so much from the feedback others give them.

#4—Compiling the Badges: At the end of every session, the Falcons create a digital portfolio to document and showcase their work. As part of this process, they also reflect on and summarize lessons learned throughout the session. If you haven’t done so in the past, I highly encourage you to ask your child to show you their badges and reflections.

#5—Preparing and Participating in the Exhibition! As you can tell, the Falcons worked hard to create a great exhibition. Thank you so much for coming and supporting them. You can find many pictures and videos in the weekly folder if you missed the exhibition.

This session has come to an end! Enjoy the break, and we can not wait to see you in session #4
