Welcome to the seventh and last week of the session!
This week, we focused on compiling badges! At the end of every session, we create a portfolio to showcase our work in a specific area. For example, for Genre, we made a document with the final script of our interview, the final video, and the critiques we gave and received. This week, we compiled several badges for those doing a PD badge this session, including quest, genre, civ, and psychical development.
This week, we finished our genre by giving our partners feedback on our interviews and making last-minute edits based on the feedback we received. We submitted our interviews, and Launch Pad watched them and voted on the best one to show everyone at the exhibition.
This brings me to the main event of the week, the Journey exhibition!
On Wednesday, Journey had their second exhibition of the year. The exhibition hosts (Nina, Lucas, and Shelly) worked hard for weeks to make sure that everything went as planned. At the exhibition, we showcased the experiments we had been working on as a part of our biology quest this session. Some experiments included egg osmosis, DNA extraction, gummy bear osmosis, and a crime scene. We also had a biology quest where the learners and parents got split into groups, and each group answered two biology-related questions Michal had asked.
On Friday, the last day of the session, we finished compiling the badges, and then we had free Friday until the holiday party began! The council organized a super-fun party, including ornament making, a candy-cane treasure hunt in the woods, and a holiday Kahoot!
This is officially the end of the session! Enjoy the long break, and see you at the next session!
