The first whole week of the year, Journey learners have done so much!
We had a morning launch on Monday morning about the learners’ heroes’ journey. We watched this wonderful poem and discussed which will be the most important question for them to answer by the end of their journey:
Did I contribute something meaningful?
Was I a good person? and
Who did I love, and who loved me?
On the morning launched in the following days, we introduced some important concepts we will continue discussing throughout the year, such as the Growth Mindset and the Excellence Process we use in AABC.
For Genre, the Falcons wrote their hero’s essay answering the following questions:
Who am I?
Who do I want to become?
What do I promise?
They recorded themselves telling their stories, and the videos were truly inspiring. As part of the process, they worked with editing video platforms; for some of them, it was their first time trying this new and important skill.
This week's most crucial group challenge was creating the Contract of Promises and Rules of Engagements. The Falcons had long discussions about what should go in these essential documents, and on Friday, we had the final exciting signing ceremony. You can find the final covenants in the weekly photos.
The last challenge was the Lip Dub challenge. The Falcons created a plan, filmed, and edited their moves to the song “Never Give Up.” You can see the final result here :) Enjoy watching them!
