Discovery: Session 3, Week 6

Session 3 has ended!-

Welcome to 2025 and Session 3. This session brought many exciting things for Discovery. Such as New Committees and Jobs systems! The learners really enjoyed the new games the Games Committee purchased, such as Sorry! and Twister. The learners also called out the Art Committee, as they really enjoyed the activities the Art Committee planned, such as origami, shrinky dinks and animal masks. We are excited to see what the committees will do next session. There will also be a new committee next session - The Spark Helper committees!- The Spark Helper committee will go to Sparks one day a week and help them do focused play! Only 4 People are allowed on this committee.

What else happened this week?

Many people in Discovery were disappointed to not be able to have out exhibition. Especially the exhibition hosts and other learners who planned different activities for the exhibition. In Quest, many learners finished making their toys It was fun to see what everyone created! There were ducks, airplanes, squishies and stress balls, and even toys with motors. In Writers Workshop many learners finished their stories and earned the WW milestone We had a good time playing on the snow pile. We also voted on who will be squad leaders next session - we will find out on the first day of Session4. Another great part of the week was when the LP learners came in and did presentations about animals. Most of them actually saw these animals when they went to Teveland in Guatemala. We enjoyed the presentations and asked a lot of questions.
