Hello parents, welcome to this week's newsletter!
In the writer's workshop as you know we are exploring the hero’s journey. This week started creating our own hero’s journey. Each learner first filled up an outline of the steps in the hero’s journey and put a little jot in each section of what's going to happen in their story. After reviewing their outline with a partner they started working on their story!
In quest we are still exploring physics by building things! This week we put the boats we made to the test in quest. Most of the boats even held all of the 300 pounds without sinking! WE have just begun out next challenge - an egg drop! We are excited to complete this challenge next week.
In art, we did something special. We made shrinky dinks!! This activity was suggested by the art committee. Basically, all the learners either outlined or drew something on a piece of special plastic. Then colored and cut it out. Some of us used a hole puncher so we could make keychains. Then we either took them home or gave them to Marie so she could put them in the oven so they could shrink and harden. Most of us put keychains on them!
Another thing worthy to mention is that this week we voted for our exhibition hosts. The people who will be the exhibition host for Session 3 are Niko M, Logon, Ella G, Paloma, Auggie, and Ozrik. We hope you join us at our exhibition week 6!
